SnapMyCut runs the text number and web chat for barbershops. This page explains what we collect when you text a shop that uses SnapMyCut or use our web chat, why we collect it, who sees it, how long we keep it, and how to delete it.

What we collect

  • Your phone number, and your name if you tell us.
  • The messages you send to the shop and the replies you get.
  • Photos you send: selfies and photos of cuts you like. We also keep the previews we make from them.
  • Your appointments: barber, service, time, and whether you came in.
  • If you use the web chat: a sign-in cookie and the type of browser you used.
  • Counts of texts and previews sent, so shops and we can track usage and costs.

Why we use it

  • To connect you with your barber and keep one conversation between you and the shop.
  • To make haircut previews from your photos and share them with your barber.
  • To book, change and cancel appointments, and to remind you before them.
  • To keep the service working and safe, and to stop abuse.

We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell it.

Your photos and your face

  • We don't create face prints, face templates or any other biometric identifier from your photos.
  • Photos are kept in private storage. They're sent to an image model only to make your preview.
  • If you send a photo of someone else's haircut, it's used only as a reference for your preview, and it's deleted on the same schedule as your own photos.
  • We don't make previews of children.

Who can see it

  • You.
  • The shop you texted. Barbers see conversations with their own clients. The shop owner can see all of the shop's conversations.
  • Companies that run parts of SnapMyCut for us, only to provide the service: Twilio for texts and sign-in codes, Vercel for hosting and file storage, Neon for our database, and the AI model providers we reach through Vercel AI Gateway to write replies and make previews.
  • Others only when the law requires it.

Your mobile number and text opt-in

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.

Reply STOP to a shop's text to stop all texts from that shop, and HELP for help. See the messaging terms.

How long we keep it

  • Photos and previews: deleted after 30 days. A shop can choose a shorter time.
  • Message text: deleted after 12 months.
  • Your phone number and name: until you delete your data, or 24 months after your last message.
  • Appointments: kept as the shop's business record. If you delete your data, they're no longer linked to you.

Delete your data

  • In the web chat, open settings and choose Delete my data. It deletes your photos, previews, message text and contact details, and unlinks your appointments.
  • Or ask your shop, or email us at support@snapmycut.com, and we'll do the same.
  • Reply STOP at any time to stop texts.

How we protect it

  • Photos are never posted at a public address. Links to them are signed and expire.
  • The web chat signs you in with a code texted to your phone.
  • Our logs record IDs, not your messages, phone number or photos.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
